The local committee for rehabilitation of disabled

The Local Committee for the Disabled in Al Fara'a camp was formally established in 1993 and activated in 1998. Due to the increasing number of disabled children some volunteers in the camp suggested the idea to establish the Committee. A number of contacts have been made in order to follow up all the problems related to this phenomenon. This work was started in 1998 with constructing a two-storey building that was finished in 2002. The first floor has a quite large playing hall for children with toys, physiotherapy room, and other rooms for teaching and conducting lectures. The second floor that has been recently finished consists of a large hall for Internet and administration.

The Committee and a number of specialists who work for the benefits of the disabled use the building. Moreover, there are a number of volunteers such as the Boy Scouts who work in cooperation with the Committee.
