Visit
of Student Delegation
Some
volunteers from Al Faraa camp, including myself Nedal, coordinated
and organizaed a trip for students of the Arab American University
in Jenin and the American University in Paris, France. We first
visited Jenin camp and the separation wall. We also visited the
demolished neighbourhood which is called Al Hawashin in Jenin camp.
It was a sad and terrible area that I had visited before. We listened
to many stories which the families told us of the deaths of their
loved ones. Most of the stories were like dreams or surreal films.
The results of the fierce invasion witness on the biggest crime
againest human kind. We also visited the 'martyrs cemetry' near
Jenin camp where 65 bodies were buried, and we noticed the new types
of graves that contain two bodies or more in the same space because
most of the bodies were cut into many pieces and the parts of several
persons were found mixed together.
In
the afternoon, we traveled from Jenin toward the north to visit
the separation wall near Al Jalameh village. On the road, we passed
many villages whose populations ragned between 40,000-45,000 people.
They face daily suffering from the settlers and the IDF. We arrived
at Al Jalameh where the separation wall passed through the fields
and destroyed many agricultural factories. The first thing which
comes immediately to mind is the injustice of the separation wall
of Berlin. A warning note was attached to the wall, warning us of
the danger of death by either shooting or electric shock (a big
electronic cable was tied to the first iron fence). The concrete
wall was behind the fence which looked like a horrible prison. We
left the area very quickly when the inhabitants told us that military
Jeep will arrive within minutes. We changed to another point of
the wall which separates the same village from Mqaibleh village
(Arab village) which lies inside the wall. Israeli soldiers surprised
us and from behind and stopped all the group near the wall. They
took the passports and the identity cards and they checked them
all. The soldiers tried to break our cameras but we refused to give
them to up. They warned us if they foundd us another time in this
dangerous area they will not let us go. We finally returned back
with our friends and we thanked God that our guests (the foreign
students) returned back safe.
